About Global Mellet Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
Welcome back to the Melletfamily genealogy website!!
A bit of website history : Information collected by our cousin Gilles de Barry was integrated October 8th 2008.

I also integrated some data from "Les maréchaux de Napoléon III leur famille et leur descendance" by Joseph Valynseele though not all of the related persons therein ...
I did include all thirteen of Françoise de Laborde-Noguez' (Sica's) sibblings !

More recently I dug into the Larrieu side of the family to understand how Château Haut-Brion was - briefly - part of our family history !

This gave us a better view of the past and a more complete view of the present.
Please update this information by adding family or individual data and some pictures.

I just renewed the site: we have 145 pictures so far and we could add 100 this year ! : let's see some faces!
You can also add contact information to your profile, if you wish.

This website aims at giving the 21st century members of the Mellet family in Europe, the USA, and wherever they may be, a way to share information on the permanent and exponential growth of the
 tribe.

My main goal is to give the new global generation of Mellets a way to get a grasp of theextensive family without traveling but we can now learn the faraway past of the family in addition, and a good picture of those who are not with us anymore can help the younger generation keep a living memory, by putting a face on a familiar name.
At the other end of the timeline, it's really great to see what recent additions by birth or union to the family look like to better commit them to our essentially visual memory even as you live far away from them !

Some will be willing to include personal information Birth date or e-mail, others mightnot. I think pictures would be a real plus to keep in touch through the miles.

The tool will be what we make of it. It is not very hard to fill out, as I havediscovered. I do not intend to enter information for anybody else, and I think eachfamily can choose what they want listed.
You can contact me to gain access to the siteand improve on it. Nicolas Mellet

PS: To add information directly, in addition to the Admin password, it is now necessary to enter an e-mail address
You can use mine (starting with nick_lisa@) or send me an e-mail - so I can list you as anadministrator which I'll be glad to do - then your e- mail will work too.
If you struggle with adding pictures, just e-mail me with a clear message giving the list of those in the picture and the date it was taken.
Someone else ... will likely integrate it properly from there.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
